Meals On Wheels!

If you haven’t already, you really need to experience the Atlanta Food Truck Park & Market. Your taste buds will thank you! There are so many exciting, out-of-the-box options to salivate over. If you’re indecisive like me, I would suggest you either go with some friends and everyone order something different, or just simply tackle each truck one day, weekend or month at time!

The park has been opened since April, but I went for the first time with my dad this past weekend. I had some really tender brown stew chicken, with rice-n-peas, cabbage and a side of plantains. YUM! I was torn between curry or jerk, fish or chicken. So I must go back!

I can’t remember the name of the truck my dad chose, but he had a seafood broil that consisted of rice with shrimp and sausage (not like a gumbo), collard greens and fried fresh fish. Most of the food was cooked to order, with about a 10 minute lag time– Totally worth the wait! The meals set you back a reasonable $7-$12.

There are up to 15 trucks to choose from at a time and you can have this yummy goodness 7 days a week for lunch and/or dinner! Your choices include: Sweet Auburn BBQ, Yumbii, King of Pops, WOW Truck, Happy Belly, Honeysuckle Gelato, Nana G’s Chik-n-Waffles, Yum Yum Cupcake, Munch Truck, Mighty Meatballs, Tex’s Tacos, Tastee Truck, Fry Guy, Yoli’s Street Food, Champion Cheesesteaks, Hail Caesar, The Pickle, Rolling Reuben’s, Pressed For Time Paninis and Mobile Malay. And that’s just the food trucks!

There’s also the market. You have people selling anything from jewelry to farm fresh veggies and eggs to my favorite… CAKE!!! There was a lady out there selling her oh-so-delicious sweet potato pie cake! It took her three years to perfect the recipe, but it paid off! I don’t know how she did it, but I loved it! The consistency, the flavor, the everything was on point! Listen, I can rant and rave about this for hours. Not only does this go along with my new Food Network obsession, The Great Food Truck Race; these are the best trucks worth chasing since ice cream trucks! :p

HAPPY MONDAY!

  1. Girl I keep seeing this on Howell Mill(is that the one you’re talking about?) I want to try, but you know my phobia been kicked so high. Maybe I’ll try when I am starving.com LOL

    1. Yes, the one on Howell Mill. Although you may see the same trucks in different areas depending on their permits. Please believe the truck I chose has a 100! I pay attention to health inspections! ;)
