Throwback Thursday: Cereal!

If you grew up thinking *Snap, *Crackle, and *Pop would appear while eating Rice Krispies, this post is for you! If you were excited about the ‘prises in the cereal boxes, this post is for you! If your mouth is watering just thinking about a bowl of your favorite morsels, this post is for you! If you want to rant about the discontinuation of your favorite cereal, then keep reading…

YUM! I am a cereal junkie! To date, cereal is one of my favorite foods! It all started when I was a kid. I think my mother lived vicariously through me! I ate home-cooked meals regularly, but that’s not to say that I didn’t have EVERY NEW CEREAL THAT HIT THE SHELVES! Remember these???

I remember these tasting like “nothing” with marshmallows!

These were semi-sweet, but so yummy!

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Let’s have a moment of silence… SMURF-BERRY CRUNCH was my favorite cereal in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD! No one seems remember them. Ah, they were so good!

How long did it take you to eat your Alpha-Bits? I remember trying to spell out my name… Then I realized ABC’s {and maybe 123’s} were the only letters included! :/

These were yummy too!

What happened to days when our toughest decision was deciding whether we wanted MARSHMALLOWS or NO MARSHMALLOWS? Did your mother make you sit there until you drank the milk after that sugary snack? {Or all the sugar YOU added to the cereal!} The simplest things in life make the fondest memories…

  1. I soooo remember a lot of these cereals! lol I was a different kind of kid so I wasn’t into experimenting much but I was a huge fan of Mr. T and Rice Krispies. Didn’t like how fast them Rice Krispies used to get soggy though but they still were a fav! :-) It’s funny how your fav food items can become your kids fav simply because you refuse to buy anything that you didn’t like as a child or still don’t like as an adult. lol This works until they’re old enough to say, “Ahhhh come on, buy these mommy!!!!” Gotta miss those mute days! LOL

  2. I am a cereal junkie too and I remember all of these cereals (except the Smurfs one). Lol! Good times…

  3. I have to admit I’m pretty lame when it comes to cereal but I can remember the ET cereal touching my life on a few Saturday mornings.
