What were the last words you uttered? We’ve all experienced the impact words can have, be it negative or positive. But, what we don’t realize is the POWER and CONTROL we possess on situations we cannot control…
Yesterday as I was cleaning, I caught a few episodes of Oprah’s Lifeclass.
“Whatever follows I AM… will come find you!”
That quote is the reason my room didn’t get cleaned! ;) She and Joel Osteen elaborated on how the power of words along with unshakable faith can shape your future. I’ve been fighting my own battles and recently had a similar conversation, so I know God didn’t want me cleaning! He was speaking to me in that moment! I literally began taking notes!
Oprah gave the example of being tired. We’re all guilty of this especially on Monday mornings! I’m so tired… {Five minutes later} I’m soooo tired…I don’t feel like working… Eventually, you really do become more tired and two hours have gone by and nothing accomplished itself!
We really have to be more cognitive before we speak because if we truly are what we say we are {OR not}, have what we say we have {OR not}, and DO what we say we can do {OR can’t do}; then it’s true! Some people say it’s what you put in the universe, but really it’s what you put in your mind. If you think negatively, your mind won’t allow you release your dreams or the life you’ve imagined into the universe! The good news is: you have a choice!
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words.” — Proverbs 18:21
It’s in the Bible people! I didn’t make it up! Oprah and Joel didn’t either! We. Have. Power! Let’s use it to become the best person we can be, the person God intended us to be, and the person we always imagined we would be! Are you up for the challenge? Let’s take control TODAY in spite of adversity and lack of approval and BE whatever we want to be, or at least work towards it! First step: Forgive ourselves for not being where you thought you would be. It’s not too late for plan B.
Practice makes perfect. Leave a positive comment!
HAPPY MONDAY!
Great quotes. Recently, I did two blog posts about saying positive words. One was how positive thoughts will be more uplifting and productive than being negative. Another post revolved around saying I can instead of I can’t. If we believe we can do something, we will make it happen. Great work and keep up the blogging :)
Thanks for reading! I really appreciate your kind words!
Lol I literally blogged about this same topic this morning! It makes my day to know there are others out there who are painfully aware of the power that words have over us! Great post!
I’m glad you stopped by! I read your post as well. Positive energy is contagious!:)
Oh yes! And there’s also the fact that great minds think alike :P
Love this! The power of words was on my mind last night!!
Thanks Nicole! :)
Love it! This is exactly why I try not to lash out on the people (even if they do deserve it) like I have grown accustomed to in the past. I rather be apart of the group that speaks life!
